Vol. 2258: The "So that happened" Edition
Well you may wonder where I was on Thursday-Friday. (we know Steve0 was off work, and it looks like bizzy didnt care to post by himself).
I got a pretty nasty 24 hour bug thursday and lost about 8 lbs due to dehydration while vacating EVERYTHING from my body. So that was fun. Fortunately, I'm feeling better again. But man thursday was brutal, followed by a Friday of basically being unable to move while I tried to recover.

Ewwww that's awful. Sorry you had to go through that. I don't wish that kind of stuff on anyone.
My Friday was an explosion of a different sort, work turned to hell. A simple project has turned in to something way, wayyyyy more than it should ever be.
And it's going to take up my whole week this week.

I'm pretty pumped about the Cuban kid the Sox signed this weekend. If he pans out it's another horse coming in the next 2-3 years. If they play the rest of their trade cards right they're REALLY going to put a good team together.

The problem is Yolmer "What Happened to Carlos" Sanchez is playing so well he's gonna block Moncada... lol. Ok, yeah, nevermind.
I'm happy about this Robert kid too.
You gotta figure they trade Robertson at a minimum. Quintana is still likely. Avi may have played himself into a trade chip. Plus Frazier and Abreu. There's a lot of pieces here and the farm system actually looks ok. It's weird. I'm not used to this

I know. It's so weird they're acting as a normally functioning team that has a plan. I keep waiting for the prospects to get traded for (insert old vet who is a big HR hitter here). I actually think Abreu isn't going anywhere because he's going to serve as the mentor for these young cubans coming through the system. Just my thought, anyway.

I love to ridicule their old guy du jour pick ups, but man, I still want to buy a Griffey jersey from his part of a season in Chicago. My favorite non-Sox player on my favorite team was fun.
