Vol. 2244: The Post-NFL Draft Edition

Post by Macho Mars on Mon May 01, 2017 10:01 am

So the draft is finally all wrapped up. How does everyone feel about their teams' picks?

I feel like the Colts new GM Chris Ballard did a pretty solid job with his first draft. Our 1st round pick is apparently an absolute stud that most mocks had going in the top 7 or so picks. Thank you to all those teams drafting QBs, WRs and RBs in the top 10! Our 2nd round pick was one of the top rated CBs in the nation and should step in and start across from Vontae Davis from day 1.

They had a really solid draft from top to bottom, according to all the experts, but the pick that is getting lots of love is RB Marlon Mack in the 5th round. There are some analytics guys who are absolutely drooling over him being drafted by the Colts.

I like what the Lions did. My only small beef is that there was no RB selected (I think they wanted some but it just didn't fall where they could get one they liked). They went defense early and often. The LBers are going to, in theory, be solid for a while now. They also got a nice CB Teez Tabor who some are upset about because his pro day and combine speeds were slow. Well, that's well and good but when you watch him play he's good. Not everything translates to the underwear olympics (combine). I also like the WR they picked up. Big guy with good hands. I'll be intrigued to see how he does.

Some Lions fans are bitching about not addressing the D-Line and the lack of an additional pass rusher... Well, guess what... You can't fix every little thing at once.

They also picked a QB in I think the 6th round out of Miami who I think could be a steal. Could prove to be a nice backup going forward or a really nice trade piece if he develops nicely. I like it.

I'm looking for a new team to root for based off this draft.

In a vacuum I dont hate Trubisky. But considering there are like 5315646 roster holes on this team, a QB wasn't my biggest desire after spending $45M on one in free agency.

But whatever, for some reason, he's the guy. I just don't get how the fuck you give up two 3rd and and 4th to move up one goddamn spot. When again, you have like 5315646 roster holes including no one to throw the ball to, b/c you let Jeffery walk so you could sign a QB to a $45M contract.

And then they traded down in the 2nd round so Arizona could take a safety when the Bears need a fucking safety! But its cool b/c they took a TE from Ashland. Which is a street in Chicago. So yay!
(seriously, what state is Ashland in? Is it even an accredited college?)

A 4th round pick on a safety was probably the only thing that made sense, though no one seems super high on him.

Then a midget RB from North Carolina AT&T/DirecTV when RB is like the only position on the team worth a damn.

And the 5th and final pick (b/c who needs draft picks when you need to replace about 50% of your team) is a G from Kutztown? I'm like 99% sure that's a fake school. And they really need tackles, not guards, b/c your two best lineman (Long and Sitton) play guard.

I give them an F-.

Well, I guess that's better than starting fake news. Right? Right?

well after reading this, I'm thinking an F- might have been too generous. Fuck this team.

So McDonalds has Super Mario happy meal toys right now. So, I bought one this morning. I got a Luigi and he shoots out of one of the pots/tubes. Pretty awesome. lol Best 90 cents I've spent recently.

No, I just bought the toy by itself. I only go through at breakfast time and I don't think they have breakfast happy meals (which is dumb)

Yup, you sure can. I learned that when they had the Smurf toys a couple or so years back. So whenever something I find amusing comes out (hasn't been once since the Smurfs) I do that.
